Kenya Veterinary Board
The Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) is a statutory body established under the Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Paraprofessionals Act, 2011. It is responsible for regulating the veterinary profession in Kenya, ensuring the highest standards of animal health and welfare. KVB oversees the registration, licensing, and practice of veterinary surgeons and paraprofessionals, setting guidelines for veterinary education, ethical conduct, and professional development. By maintaining strict adherence to regulatory frameworks, the Board safeguards public health, enhances animal productivity, and supports the agricultural sector's growth through efficient and effective veterinary services across the country.
KVB has engaged with VetNOW to streamline the registration of veterinarians and VPPs, as well as utilize VetNOW’s digital continuing education resources and tools.
Kenya Veterinary Medicines Directorate
The Kenya Veterinary Medicines Directorate (KVMD) is a regulatory authority established to oversee the quality, safety, and efficacy of veterinary medicines and products in Kenya. Its mandate includes the registration, licensing, and control of the manufacture, importation, distribution, and use of veterinary drugs and biologicals. KVMD ensures that all veterinary products meet the required standards, promoting responsible use and safeguarding animal health and public safety. Through rigorous monitoring and enforcement, the Directorate supports the agricultural sector by ensuring access to high-quality veterinary medicines, contributing to improved livestock productivity and sustainable animal health management across the country.
KVMD has engaged with VetNOW to create a database and compendium of medicines, along with an online portal to improve and streamline the registration process for verified pharmaceuticals and their producers.

VetNOW is a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kenya, attending the annual AmCham summit in April 2024 in Nairobi.

By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, the Kenya Veterinary Association plays a crucial role in enhancing the livestock industry, food security, and public health across the country.
The KVA is promoting VetNOW to its membership as a means to improve their businesses and animal health. In 2024, VetNOW participated in the KVA Annual Congress in Isiolo, chapter-specific events, and the World Rabies Day Celebrations.
Kenya Veterinary Association
The Kenya Livestock Producers Association (KLPA) is a national organization that represents the interests of livestock farmers across Kenya. Committed to promoting sustainable livestock production, KLPA advocates for policies that enhance productivity, profitability, and the well-being of livestock producers. The Association provides a platform for farmers to access essential resources, including training, market information, and veterinary services, while also facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration among industry stakeholders. Through its initiatives, KLPA supports the growth of the livestock sector, contributing to food security, economic development, and rural livelihoods across the country.
The KLPA is encouraging its members to join the VetNOW community, and is helping VetNOW to promote its services to the KLPA members through targeted SMS campaigns. VetNOW will also be participating in KLPA farmer training sessions.

Kenya Directorate of Veterinary Services
The Kenya Directorate of Veterinary Services (DVS) is the government body responsible for safeguarding animal health and ensuring food safety in Kenya. Operating under the Ministry of Agriculture, the DVS oversees the implementation of veterinary policies, regulations, and programs aimed at disease control, animal welfare, and public health protection. The Directorate plays a crucial role in monitoring and preventing the spread of animal diseases, facilitating trade in livestock and animal products, and promoting best practices in veterinary care. Through strategic partnerships, research, and capacity building, the DVS supports sustainable livestock development, contributing to the nation's food security and economic growth.
VetNOW has the support of the DVS for its initiatives and is working to integrate the DVS disease reporting platform into the platform for ease of use by the veterinarians.
The U.S. Embassy in Kenya represents the United States' diplomatic mission to Kenya, fostering strong bilateral relations between the two nations. The Embassy works to promote shared interests in areas such as trade, investment, security, health, education, and cultural exchange. Through its various programs and initiatives, the U.S. Embassy supports economic development, peace, and stability in Kenya, while also offering services to American citizens and facilitating travel and business opportunities between the two countries. As a center for diplomatic engagement, the Embassy strives to strengthen cooperation, mutual understanding, and partnership between the United States and Kenya.
