VetNOW Telehealth Platform Live in Kenya

Designed for Livestock Farmers and Animal Health Professionals to Achieve Increased Productivity, Profitability and Sustainability

VetNOW, new and groundbreaking telehealth platform designed to optimize livestock farmer and animal health professional relationships to achieve increased productivity, profitability and sustainability, officially launched across Kenya in November 2024. The online platform provides mobile-based support and enhanced communication between livestock farmers, veterinarians, and veterinary paraprofessionals (VPPs). The platform gives members access to vital information regarding disease awareness, preventive care, improved diagnostics, record keeping, and regulatory compliance.

The official launch took place in Nairobi, Kenya, before a capacity crowd of leaders from the livestock, government, NGO, veterinary, and animal-health solutions sectors. The launch was preceded by a successful series of field trials in Kenya’s Kiambu and Nakuru counties that started in July 2024.

That initial period allowed for valuable member feedback and user insight to enhance and improve the technology for optimized farmer, veterinarian, and veterinary paraprofessional benefit. Focused efforts on training, onboarding, and improving utilization have been integrated into current and future plans. Ongoing collaboration and training with all VetNOW ecosystem members is underway with our dedicated team of Engagement Specialists.

VetNOW is the flagship of a powerful partnership comprising the Global Alliance for Livestock Veterinary Medicines (GALVmed), the National Animal Disease Information Service (NADIS), and the Africa Veterinary Technicians Association (AVTA).

VetNOW is a woman-owned entity based in Nairobi, Kenya and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (U.S.). It is a leading digital health technology company focused on the global transformation of veterinary healthcare. It is dedicated to supporting farmers and small-scale livestock producers with improved access to best-available animal health services.

Bridging the Gap

The introduction of VetNOW’s veterinary telehealth services paves the way for advancements for the people, animals, and economy of Kenya. By creating a Connected Care Ecosystem that links animal owners, veterinary doctors, and veterinary paraprofessionals through a regulatory compliant cloud technology, VetNOW is redefining accessibility.

In many rural Kenyan communities, it is not uncommon for farmers to have to wait days, if not weeks, for their animals to receive proper care. The ability to speak with a veterinarian immediately could be the difference in a farm losing one of its animals and losing all of its livestock. This prompt veterinary care, in addition to VetNOW’s rapid information distribution, is crucial in isolating and containing diseases.

With its real-time user interaction and transaction analytics, VetNOW offers a propagative approach to acceleration of digital innovation across the animal health ecosystem.
